I own a couple of Drupal websites and migrating from Drupal to WordPress CMS was really an endless nightmare for me before I came across CMS2CMS on the web world. It’s an online tool that can easily handle the entire content migration from Drupal to WordPress with ease.
You need not hire a programmer to set up the migration for your website, in just few steps all your custom posts types, custom fields, categories, images, user profiles, comments, tags & categories will move to the new WordPress website.
The tool from CMS2CMS converts the website automatically without any additional scripts or software installations. Before I planned to move my Drupal powered website to WordPress, I crafted a new WordPress website and got myself registered with the CMS2CMS by furnishing the required details.
After registering with CMS2CMS, I logged into the website using my login details. Next I was directed to a window wherein I entered the URLs of my Drupal and WordPress website and then selected the Drupal version and WordPress CMS version respectively. While using CMS2CMS online tool, you are provided with an option of selecting a test site, in case if you don’t have a target website live yet.
On specifying the URL’s, I was guided to click on the continue button and later a new web page appeared that included an option to establish the ‘connection between sites’, before clicking on the button, I downloaded the bridge file and extracted the ‘CMS2CMS’ folder on my computer.
And later I connected the source and target websites via FileZilla, a FTP client software. Using the FTP client, I uploaded the extracted files to the root folder of source and target websites.
Once I have clicked on ‘Verify Connection to Your Sites’ a list of migration options that included users, content pages, comments, tags & categories, images, SEO friendly URLs and permanent (301) redirection from old URLs to new URLs is an important option that must be considered while converting website from one CMS to other.
The ‘get design suggestion’ option helps the users by suggesting a theme which resembles the source website theme and it even simplifies the task of setting up a theme for the new CMS. Before choosing the full migration service, I had selected a free demo migration that migrated 10 pages with all relevant entities.
As a user I was able to check how my new WordPress website would look after the migration and later I chose the option of ‘start full migration’, after a few minutes of which, my new WordPress powered website was ready.
The service of CMS2CMS has really surprised me and all the image, posts, users, comments, tags, categories and URLs relevant to my Drupal website got migrated in a wonderful way and they appeared similar on my new WordPress powered website.
CMS2CMS is an easy to use online tool that allows the website owners with basic skills to migrate from one CMS to other on their own and it even assists the developers in saving their valuable time as manual CMS migration requires more time and knowledge. I personally recommend every website owner to use the affordable services of CMS2CMS for website migration from Drupal to WordPress.
